Last night (november 10th), Peter showed up at a pub gig where Anto Dust was playing and played a couple of songs with her, including Can't Stand Me Now and She Loves You. It was very sweet of him to turn up and show support, and all in good humour :)

I don't think it was there the last time I checked. On Amazon there is now a little teaser video with Phill and Simon and some clips from the Best of DVD including unseen Preston and Russell Brand.

I definitely agree with Simon that is a weird idea that the commentary isn't optional. Don't know if I like that.

Okay, this has been bugging me all day. The tags still confuse me...

Well, I really don't remember anything of this story at except for one part. Ianto had cancer and it was just before Christmas, I think, when his hair started falling out so Jack shaved his head for him. I remember it was written fairly briefly and not in detail at all (just that one part) but it was a fantastic story. Can anyone help me?

Through some combination of Googling I can't hope to recreate, I found out that Peter's review of QPR's '95-'96 season from his fanzine was reprinted in a book called - and I wish I was making this up - "Survival of the Fattest 2 (Now THAT'S what I call football!): An alternative review of the '95-'96 season." I, of course, immediately went in search of it on Amazon, where I found a copy for a penny (!). It arrived today, and I am sharing the scan of Peter's section with you. Apologies in advance for the quality. It's a yellowed paperback and it took several tries to make the scans legible. As a bit of background, this was the season QPR were relegated from the Premiership (to which they will be returning next season).

Click to make bigger and all of that.

Hey im looking for a story that I believe was post countrycide...It see's Ianto looking like he is going 'mad' and his dad turns up making him sound like he has done things to him self and others.  He has words carved into his body that his dad did but his dad claims it was himself who put the words there.  I dont want to ruin the ending but something happens and the team then believe Ianto :)

All help will be appreciated :) Thanks :)

From Xfm:

Russell Brand has taken a stand in our search for Song Of The Decade. The comedian, broadcaster and squeeze of Katy Perry has nominated ‘Can’t Stand Me Now’ as the best song of the last ten years.

Brand was effusive in his praise of one of The Libertines’ best known songs.

“I like it because of the romance of The Libertines as a group”, he said. “This song is like the zenith and nadir of [Carl and Pete’s] relationship. It’s perhaps their best creative achievement and also a beautiful hymn to the demise of their friendship”.

I love Russell.

You can hear a longer clip of Russell speaking about the song and vote for the Song of the Decade on the website.

Peter also got praise from Sylvain Sylvain of the New York Dolls in an interview:

Who do I like right now? I like Pete Doherty and whatever he chooses to call his band this week. We did festivals together in Spain and places like that. I think Fuck Forever is the most romantic song written in the 21st century so far.

Many of you guys may have seen this pic in the DPT community but I thought I'd put it herefor those who didn't. It is from Adam Green's Blog. He calls it "I had breakfast with Brando. Nothing happened"

Due to mitigating circumstances (hello not!swine flu!) we are extending the deadline for accepting newsletter editor applications until Monday, Nov. 16. We also wanted to take the opportunity to give a short primer on how we create the newsletter in case there are individuals who are interested in applying but are hesitant because they don't know the process.

As an editor, your job is to scan the newsletter watchlist - [info]tw_watch- for items that qualify for inclusion in the newsletter. The watchlist is a dummy LJ that has friends list comprised of individuals and communities who participate in fandom. Each link is then dropped into its appropriate category on the newsletter. There are several ways in which to actually construct the newsletter and each editor has their own preference. Some brave souls hand-code and create an lj post, others use a template and client approach, typically a saved Semagic file. In addition, there is an Excel spreadsheet created by a former editor with macros built in so you can merely copy and paste and let Excel generate the format.

What items you link are based on criteria set forth in the editor guidelines. We are an inclusive newsletter and link fic, discussion, art, icons, etc. Our criteria for linking are broad and only call in "editorial prerogative" in rare cases, typically when a fic header does not contain enough information to create a link or if an post is not substantive. For example - an episode reaction consisting simply of "I loved it!" would probably not get linked while an episode reaction with more substance would.

As an editor you will become a member of the editorial community [info]satellite_five where we come together to discuss issues and concerns and, on occasion, effect policy. All editors, regardless of status, have full participation rights at the community.

If you have any questions about the process, please feel free to leave a comment or email me at scarlettagain@gmail.com. If you would like to apply for an editor position, leave a comment at this post.

Thank you!

This is a work in progress with Jack as a writer going to Cardiff to research a book about the history of the area. He meets Ianto and as an archivist helps him with the research and the two become close. Gwen is his half sister and Lisa died while she was pregnant and Ianto blames himself.

You folks are always so good at this!

Some time ago, I read a wonderful (and hot!) Jack/Ianto/Idris threesome (which of course Jack instigates, because he's Jack), but it has some lovely bits of Ianto/Idris as well.

Of course, now I can't remember *where* I found it. Does this ring any bells for anyone?

Thanks so much for any help!

Hi. Looking for a post-countrycide fic.
Tosh ends up going to Ianto's house for company and finds Jack already there looking after a very bruised Ianto.
I think she stays in the guest room and Jack and Ianto sleep together but that might be a totally different fic. (Which if it is, any help finding that one as well?)

Thank you :)
